Strawberry Fields Forever - Candy Flip

Is there a band more covered than The Beatles? I could post for years using nothing but covers of Beatles singles, but you might become bored with it all. Unless you're some crazy Beatles fan who listens to them 24/7, alone in your parents' basement, wondering about that hot girl you saw in the Sears catalogue... Anyway...Candy Flip. Yes, Candy Flip. They were a British electronic band who lumped in with the Manchester (or 'Madchester') music scene. They released 'Strawberry Fields Forever' as a single in 1990, followed by their full-length album 'Madstock...The Continuing Adventures of Bubble Car Fish' in 1991. No, I have no idea what it means, either. The band were pretty much a one-hit wonder, and the members all moved on to other minor groups or music industry jobs after splitting. I guess it's not a good thing to start your career covering a song by one of the most successful and popular bands ever, and then ride along on the coattails of one of the most influential music scenes ever. But it was kinda cool owning the 7" single on casette.
