Last Kiss - Pearl Jam

12 years seems like a long enough break, wouldn't you agree? In 2000, Pearl Jam released their cover of Last Kiss, a song originally recorded by Wayne Cochran in 1961, as their contribution to the 1999 charity album 'No Boundaries: A Benefit for the Kosovar Refugees', before appearing on their 2003 rarities album, Lost Dogs. However, it was originally recorded during a soundcheck in 1998 and released as a gift to fan club members that Christmas.

The increasing airplay the song received in 1999 lead to its inclusion on the Kosovar charity album, and proceeds from radio airplay were also donated to the charity. It ultimately reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, the band's highest single on that chart to date.
